How to Kickflip – Learn How to Kickflip on a Skateboard

by admin

A kickflip is a skateboarding trick where your board makes a full rotation on itself. It is a variation of an Ollie. It is one of the most popular tricks in Skateboarding as it is technical and can be done over big gaps. Once you know How to Kickflip, you will want to do it everywhere ;-)

How to Kickflip on a Skateboard:

How to Kickflip: Step 1

Put your front foot in between both trucks to the side with you heel hanging off the board and your back foot on the tail. Get comfortable in this position so you can get a good balance.

How to Kickflip: Step 2

You’ re going to snap your tail at the same time than giving the impulsion to jump.

How to Kickflip: Step 3

You’ re going to drag your front foot toward the front of your board and kick it to the side with your toes. The best way to drag your front foot forward and to kick your board to the side is to do a rolling motion with your ankle. Kicking your board to the side will enable it to flip. Kick it harder or softer if it flips to slow or to fast respectively.

How to Kickflip: Step 4

Your board should flip horizontally and parallel to your knees.

How to Kickflip: Step 5

At the highest of the impulsion, as your feet are extended after kick flipping your board, check for your grip tape and bring them back onto it. I know this will take some practice but try to lend with your back foot on your tail and your front foot on your front truck simultaneously. Lend with your knees bent so that you get a good balance.

You need to jump up. From what i’ m understanding you’ re trying your trick by throwing your board ahead of you. You need to stay on top of it. Why don’ t you explain a little more about your problem or even show us throug a video?
